What single discount is equivalent to two successive discounts of 10% and 15%?

100 - 10% = 90

90 - 15% = 76.5  therefore the reduction as a single % is 23.5% (100 - 76.5) 

We can check if our answer is right by doing another sum, 

250 - 10% = 225

225 - 15%  = 191.25

now to see if we are correct: 250 x 0.765 = 191.25

(or 250 - 23.5% = 191.25)
